The NSA helps its members cope with their stuttering in several ways. One of the most exciting ways is through our Adult Stuttering Workshops. In this program, dynamic speakers give day-long presentations about various aspects of stuttering in local and regional workshops.
Following is a list of individuals who have presented NSA workshops.
You can arrange for a stuttering workshop by contacting our workshop coordinator, Sally Peterson, at speterson6397@wowway.com. You can also contact the National Office at (800) We Stutter (937-8888) for more information.
The workshop presenters listed here have agreed to support the National Stuttering Association's outreach and education activities by presenting one-day workshop programs organized by NSA chapters throughout the United States. Designed primary for adults and young adults, these workshops will also be beneficial to family members, speech-language pathologists, teachers, and others who work with people who stutter. Most workshops are given for a very modest fee and are sponsored by the NSA, the local chapter, and (sometimes) other local organizations. Student rates and scholarships are available. Non-members can join at the workshops to obtain lower member rates.
While many of these presenters are providers of speech or psychological therapy services, and the workshops present topics and material that may help support therapy and self-help programs, NSA workshops are not intended to be therapy experiences in themselves or to substitute for therapy.
