Leading an NSA chapter is one of the most exciting and challenging opportunities we have to help other people who stutter. It involves hard work and dedication, but also the joy of leading a group, the excitement of seeing a person who stutters open up for the first time, and the satisfaction of seeing someone gain personal self-confidence and empowerment from participating in the chapter (which could last a lifetime)!
So what are you waiting for? It is time to help other people who stutter in your area!
Just follow these simple steps:
- Check our Directory of Local Chapters to see if there's already one near you
- Contact us at Leaders@WeStutter.org and let us know that you're interested in starting a chapter
- Make sure that your account with the NSA is in good standing
- Work with your Regional Chapter Coordinator to determine chapter specifics
- Familiarize yourself with our Chapter Leaders Manual(s)
- Complete and return your Chapter Leader Agreement (will be sent to you by your RCC)
- Determine a meeting time and place for your new chapter
- Lead your chapter!
